Gallaudet Facts

Dear Readers:

Let me take this opportunity to Thank you for taking the time to familiarize yourself with our website. Our goal is to make a difference in our Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities, while maintaining a strong commitment to our goals of incorporating Audism into the Dictionary. We will continue to offer presentations to help educate people about Audism. We will continue to reach out to as many people as we might be able to educate.

Audism.org is an advocate of seeing the term audism incorporated into the dictionary, defining the meaning for all to understand. This hopefully will help to ensure the human rights of all Deaf and Hard of Hearing people. It is our pledge to help stop discrimination for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the job market, public forum and in all aspects of daily life. The Deaf and Hard of Hearing contend with daily challenges of life and are striving to protect our culture and freedoms while not infringing upon others. We simply want to educate and bring awareness to the challenges we face.

It is our responsibility to ensure that our rights are not violated. That we are given the same freedoms and opportunities while maintaining our culture. It is our duty to take a stand and to be united, as we educate the population about our cause, our needs and our rights. We deserve the right to be treated as first class citizens and to be on the same playing field of opportunity that is given to all.

We employ you to accept responsibility in helping us to educate and guarantee our rights. We need your support and your help in reaching our goals. We are open to your ideas, your feedback and your participation. We encourage you to contact us.

It is our belief that only as a collective group that we might achieve our goals. It is through education and outreach that we will teach others about our culture. It is through education that others will learn how we are being discriminated against, hurt and deprived of opportunities. We must teach those who are hurting us, for we believe many do so unknowingly. This is why it is imperative that Audism be taught and spread. It is essential it become part of the Dictionary.

We thank you for your support and validation of our cause. We look forward to your help and together we can make a difference.
